A Data Center approved version of this app is not currently available. Are there plans to provide a Data Center compatible version?

Although this plugin is not officially Data Center approved, it does (unofficially) work in Data Center.
In the future, this plugin may get included in the core Bamboo product (which would make it implicitly DC approved). But there is no timeline yet on that unfortunately.
We’ve also pushed up a more recent version onto marketplace: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1212549/variable-tasks-for-bamboo/version-history#b1010010054
