Configure Rooms at a Project Level

With general email notifications, one can send notifications to a particular Project Role, allowing all projects with the same Workflow to configure who should be notified.

It would be nice if this is somehow configurable with Hipchat rooms as well, allowing Project Admins to control which rooms notifications go to.

Yes, this would be really useful. I have a workflow that is used by 100 projects. At the moment to send a notification for each project to a different rooms, I would have to add 100 post functions to the same transition. That's not very good scaling

I created a branch which allows a per project configuration, and uses jira event system to trigger hipchat messages. https://bitbucket.org/tuler/hipchat-for-jira/branch/project-level-config You can install the atlassian-sdk, package the plugin, and test it.

My company has the same issue at Matt. All our projects use the same workflow, so rooms assigned to projects would be perfect.
