Error authenticating with Jira/Bitbucket: Error: unable to verify the first certificate with DigiCert
Hello i'm getting the error: Error authenticating with Jira/Bitbucket: Error: unable to verify the first certificate
When i searched through the issues here i saw other people get the same error message, but when i read through the issues i found out that those people had self signed certificates.
I ran in to this problem even doe we have a bought wildcard certificate from DigiCert.
What can the problem be? Aren´t this plugin trusting the DigiCert Global Root CA?
Im running VS Code 1.44.2 and 2.5.1 release of the plugin on an Windows 10 computer.
Our Jira and Bitbucket setup:
Bitbucket Server v5.5.0
Jira Server v8.5.1

Account Deactivated Hi @Peter Brymér
The extension just uses whatever is in your certificate chain and has options to deal with various certificate issues.
Some things you may want to try:
- Double check your certificate chain and make sure everything is up to date
- Check your server’s cert using: http://www.digicert.com/help/
-
If you have access to your cert, try adding it as a custom cert in the authentication settings for your server
- you might need to create a new cert with the full chain. see: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/31673587/error-unable-to-verify-the-first-certificate-in-nodejs#comment97619766_32440021
If none of that works, we’ll have to do a bit more debugging.
Let me know how it goes!
