Ability to REFER to a Jira issue in VS Code

Currently I can CREATE a Jira issue directly from VS Code.

I would like the ability to REFER to an EXISTING issue in the code.

For instance, I may have several places in the code that are affected by the issue. Rather than adding comments at each location, I would like just to put a link to the Jira issue. That way, anyone on the team who wants to find out more about the code change can just click the link.
