Cannot connect do bbcloud: "unable to get issuer certificate" error

I am trying to run Bibtucket extension for VS Code, but after the installation I am not able to connect to the Bitbucket-Cloud. I always get the error:

Error authenticating with bbcloud: Error: Error fetching Bitbucket tokens: Error: unable to get issuer certificate 
Give it a moment and try again.

There is no proxy, and I can clone repositories within VSCode from my Bitbucket-Cloud-Account. Also pushing and pulling to/from the remote works fine.

Mac OS Catalina, 10.15.7

VSCode 1.54.1

Bitbucket extension: 2.8.5

Any suggestions where to start to search?

I also had this same issue. I had blocked “Code Helper (Renderer)” in my Little Snitch configuration. After allowing it access over port 443, it worked.

Yes, that solved the problem! I do not have little snitch, but my firewall was blocking the port.
