When running a remote instance I am required to provide an app password with every push.

Issue #752 new

I am fully logged into Bitbucket using the extension but when ever I try a push I am required to provide an app password. It seems unlikely this is the intended usage ass app passwords tend to be one off usages.

Agreed. I’m having the same issues. I click on “login to Bitbucket Cloud” on the Atlassian Settings page and get the browser windows that says “Success! Your Bitbucket account was connected with VS Code”. Then I go to Push and I get “Authentication failed for [my project].git/”

Furthermore, I just reset my VS Code app password last time I pushed code and I’m not able to authenticate this time. This seems to happen every time I go to commit code on my side project, which is infrequent and can be just once a week.

Quick update, I can get the pull/ push commands to work but only after I enter my app password. I get prompted each time, which is super annoying. I now have many apps passwords in my account named VSCodeHome3, VSCodeHome4…
