Uncollapse subset of collapsed thread

I'd be great if there is the ability to uncollapse part of a collapsed thread.

Example: If there are 5 messages in a collapsed thread, but I only want to uncollapse and see the last two messages in the thread. If I can do so by clicking on the greater than symbol to uncollapse the last two messages.

I agree, that would be cool. But if JIRA comments behaved just like whatever Confluence comments do then I'd be happy.

As you might have noticed, this add-on itself is javascript hack on the existing comments rendered by JIRA. Let me see if this can be done.
