Add header link colour option to configuration form

Issue #4 open
Chris Watts created an issue

If you set to red header, and white accent, all the text disappears, if you reverse it, and have red accent, white header.. the bar at the top goes to white background black text ( as opposed to before - white text red back).. I have version 0.2.3 of the plugin. To clarify, accent colour is #c4262e, header colour is #ffffff if you reverse them, see picture. The problem is, there needs to be a differentiation between the header accents, and the general text colour. General text colour would be better with white background red text, the header bar looks better with red background white text.

    Hi Chris,

That's a good suggestion, I'll try and work that in to the plugin an extra colour field for the header link colours.

When developing the plugin, we decided that we want to keep it simple and not have too many configuration options, and for the header we just check the colour values and invert the links and menu trigger colours to ensure sufficient contrast that the links are visible. You situation is certainly one that warrants the use of a red accent colour for the header link text, separate to the accent colour in the main body of the page.

You could still use the red background/white text header though, if you have a version of your company logo set on a red (or transparent) background. The 'accent colour' option on the form doesn't affect the header text colour, so you could set the accent colour to red too. Something like this (using #c4262e for both the header AND the accent colour):
