Home: Add "go to search" button next to site selection.

Searching for data isn’t super intuitive. Teachers/students may become confused about needing to select a site first and then navigate to the drop down menu to search. Many will likely assume that after navigating to “Search” in the drop down menu, they will then be presented with the opportunity to select a site. It may be nice for a search button to appear directly next to the site selection drop-down box on the home screen once a site has been selected (as indicated in image).

This will get fixed when the site selection element gets integrated into every page, which is the plan.

I think even with the site selection on every page, the home page could be more intuitive. I don't necessarily think these changes are incompatible.

Actually, I’ve been thinking for some time that menu options should be expanded by default, at least on wide screens. Then “Search” and other tasks are all just one click away.
