Integration Support

Thomas Waldowski here. I work for Systems Integration and we intend to integrate your Beremiz project into our SCADA package to create a HMI & PLC product.

I was interested in integration support for connecting Beremiz to our product. My intent is to used Beremiz as a control strategy generator with our SCADA as the remote I/O and HMI. I understand that I can connect using Modbus and other protocols, but I would like to make Beremiz aware of our existing objects so that there is a single configuration task.

Do you want implement something like OPC UA?

OPC UA is one option, there are numerous open source projects and our system does not currently have UA. We have a bid active which requires UA. Our system currently supports OPC DA/AE/HDA client/servers, but only for the Windows version.

We have implemented Allen-Bradley's EthernetIP/CIP protocol which is also tag based. This would be another option. Having Beremiz support tab based read/writes with EthernetIP/CIP would be a plus for simplified integration. Direct access to the tags is preferred over mapping to memory space (i.e., Modbus).

We are interested in hiring an engineer with experience with this product. I'll send and email via [e-mail].

As far as I know to use EtherNet/IP one must obtain the necessary license from ODVA through its Terms of Usage Agreement for the EtherNet/IP technology, available through the ODVA web site at www.odva.org. I hope OPC UA doesn't have the same requirement.

You should receive e-mail from mailman if your message isn't posted to the ML. Probably this is because you posted without subscription to the mailing list.
