I don't seem to have edit access to https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12-__RqTqQxuxHNOln3H5ciVztsDMJcZ2SVs1BrfqYCc/edit#gid=0, or I'd claim it there. <shrug> Gonna start spidering shortly.

    Copying to azi02 /home/jan/local_data/podaac.jpl but not really dealing with the symlinks Scott warned about. Still ...

    Scott Maxwell marsroverdriver@gmail.com 24 Apr to Sakari, John Well, what I was downloading there was PODAAC. I hadn't finished when I checked last.

    If we're at capacity without that data, maybe the best thing to do is to give up on it: it's clearly a larger data set than I thought when I started attempting to back it up (I was told to expect ~ 100 GB), and maybe it would just run us out of room if we ever did finish.

    Sakari 24 Apr to John, Scott John, do we have another copy of PODAAC?

    The ~6T Scott got seems good quality -- it's some an FTP site, but it's probably incomplete because the job had run out of space.

    It looks like this:

    [maxwell@azi02 podaac]$ ls -al total 60 drwxr-xr-x 11 maxwell maxwell 4096 Mar 15 04:01 . drwxr-xr-x 3 maxwell maxwell 4096 Mar 15 04:01 .. drwxr-xr-x 31 maxwell maxwell 4096 Feb 26 14:41 allData lrwxrwxrwx 1 maxwell maxwell 14 Dec 21 22:17 common -> allData/common drwxr-xr-x 3 maxwell maxwell 4096 Dec 2 2014 GeodeticsGravity drwxrwxr-x 4 maxwell maxwell 4096 Feb 17 07:46 misc drwxr-xr-x 5 maxwell maxwell 4096 Jul 28 2011 OceanCirculation drwxr-xr-x 13 maxwell maxwell 4096 May 19 2016 OceanTemperature drwxr-xr-x 17 maxwell maxwell 4096 May 14 2016 OceanWinds -rw-rw-r-- 1 maxwell maxwell 1328 Feb 24 15:44 quikscat -rw-rw-r-- 1 maxwell maxwell 1055 Oct 25 21:44 README -rw-rw-r-- 1 maxwell maxwell 866 Oct 25 21:45 README.txt drwxr-xr-x 5 maxwell maxwell 4096 Nov 15 07:11 SalinityDensity drwxr-xr-x 8 maxwell maxwell 4096 Nov 30 2012 SeaIce drwxr-xr-x 17 maxwell maxwell 4096 Oct 4 2016 SeaSurfaceTopography -rw-rw-r-- 1 maxwell maxwell 1146 Feb 24 15:45 seawinds

    We can either package it as is and publish without knowing how complete it is, or we can drop the whole thing.

    If we know someone else has a complete copy, then we might as well drop ours.

    If there is no other guidance I will delete it after a few weeks.

    Sounds good to me, Sakari. Can you update the ticket when you do? Or shall I? I hope to make another round at updating tickets before the end of the weekend.  - Jan

    PODAAC was never completed, and the partial work is lost, now that azi02 has been shut down. This was a prudent economic choice, in my opinion. Too bad, but not right to spend money in the hope someone will be able to get to it.
