Does it help to create an async manual evaluator, where the user enters a value into a specified file.? It can be helpful when the interfacing with cost function is not easy or trivial, but can still integrate without much of a problem.

This is a purely user defined decision to make. Current check-pointing should be a reasonable functionality.
