Add ? help hotkey in the journal similar to the one in inventory (AKA: "? view quick keys") that explains what the $, ?, and [ ] do. I know the check-box marks it on your map, and i believe the ? is greyed out if you've visited the site, but I had to learn those through context. It'd be nice to know for sure with just a little ? menu.
