<sirelderling> As a Linux user running Steam on Fedora 40 without any addons installed, I've encountered an issue. Whenever I try to start a new game and select a "preset" character, or when I create my own character and choose the starting village (for example, Joppa), the game crashes. I suspect that the crash occurs under the same circumstances in both instances. This problem persists across both the stable version and the new alpha build of the game.

I'm wondering if this issue is known. Some additional context: The game ran without issues during my last play session in early March 2024. Interestingly, the game runs without any problems if I use the Windows version via Proton. Additionally, I recently updated Fedora from version 39 to 40, though I'm unsure if this update could be related to the issue.
