Steps to reproduce:
(1) Create new game
(2) Wish for a gelatinous wedge
(3) Wish for beguile; target wedge
(4) Wish for a croc
(5) Tell wedge to attack croc, it has always engulfed the croc on its first attack for me

Note that the gelatinous wedge icon in the nearby objects UI is the croc icon. The croc will continue to attack you even though it's engulfed.

Wait for the croc to die. When it dies, the croc will disappear from the nearby objects UI but the map location when the wedge is will continue to swap between the croc and the wedge.

(6) Wish for another croc and tell your wedge to attack the croc.

It will not attack the croc. It won't even move. If you move to a new zone it will zone in with you but will not move from that spot or make any attacks.

(7) Wish for another gelatinous wedge, beguile it, and tell it to attack the croc

It will engulf the croc, croc will attack you if you are adjacent to your wedge, and when the croc dies the wedge will become passive just like the first one.
