When an NPC is made lovesick by a player possessing the Proselytize skill, the NPC remains a follower indefinitely after the lovesick status has expired.

Issue #12055 resolved
Tetra Byte created an issue

Version: 2.0.207.71

Mods: None

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create a character with the Proselytize skill, or learn the skill via skill points
  2. Equip a love injector with the primary limb
  3. Attack and hit an NPC, inflicting lovesickness, and causing them to become your follower
  4. Wait >3,600 turns (the maximum duration of the lovesickness status)

Expected outcome:

The NPC is no longer a follower, and returns to their previous attitude towards the player.

Actual outcome:

The NPC remains a follower (highlighted blue when ‘alt’ is held) after the lovesickness status is gone.

Comments:

It seems possible to gather as many high level permanent followers as desired with this method, so long as the player can successfully land an attack with a love injector, making love injectors rather over powered.

If the player does not have Proselytize when hitting with the love injector, then when the lovesickness status wears off, the NPC returns to their normal attitude as expected.

That’s not only about Proselytize skill. Probably Rebuke robot also adds the same behavior. It is 100% reproducible as any True Kin character. So you can have infinite amount of high-level followers.
