Auto-explore treating hostile mobs as friendly/neutral

When auto exploring, the character seems to move through enemies as it would friendly mobs, most noticeably in a 1-tile wide or generally claustrophobic area.

It’s somewhat common to encounter this behavior in underground ruins or lairs, and it sometimes leads to some pretty much game-ending scenarios, such as the one attached, where it seems that autoexplore made my character swap places with the turret as if it were friendly or neutral.

autoexplore settings: squares/second: 60, ignore enemies less than: easy (and chaingun turret was considered average)
