a quick glance in the logs shows it's maybe keybind related

renaming keymap2.json in C:\Users\[user]\AppData\LocalLow\Freehold Games\CavesOfQud\Synced is not helping, it regenerates an identical file despite me disabling steam cloud saves. Renaming the keymap2.json one directory up stops it from regenerating the file but it still crashes

plugging my controller in doesn't change anything, I'm out of ideas
