Unable to repair anything with bits

When I try to anything with bits, this error happens (silently) and it just returns back to the inventory. This might have happened because hours and hours ago I accidentally managed to find an item (I think it was an Engraved bow or something) with a bit value of <?> and I disassembled it out of curiousity. Either way, this locks out the repair option for ANY item in the game, which is rough.
