sphynx salt injector foreseeing my death turned out differently

I was exploring a ruin and found a trash monk there. He was neutral to me. Then I attacked him and started fighting him. In the middle of combat (when I was around half hp) I used sphynx salt injector and let him attack me. The “your demise is near would you like to go back at time” pop up showed up and I said yes. Now I was back at time when I used the injector, which was the middle of the fight but now Thrash Monk was neutral again so I had to attack him to start the fight again.

Using the injector to prevent death made the npc I was fighting against neutral to me in the middle of combat.
