<autumn, chaotic cat cherub> With the cooking effect "Whenever you perform a critical hit, you have a 50% chance to dismember or slam a nearby target", getting the effect to activate will perform a directional check for a nearby target. Pressing 5 at this time, if Slam is the chosen effect, will ask "Are you sure you want to slam yourself?". The same is not true for when Dismember is the chosen effect - you will simply dismember yourself with no prompt upon pressing 5.
