2nd version of unupgraded horns appeared in inventory, won't unequip

At some point in the game, when I got rank 12-13 I think on horns mutation, I got the 5AV version on my head, but the previous 4av appeared on inventory and wouldn't disappear. I tried to put it on my 2nd head to test if it was even usable at all, and I was able to equip, but it's now permanently etched on my 2nd head, and doesn't have any uses at all, because of the better pair of horns on the 1st head.

Update on this issue, the extra pair of horns do in fact count as an extra weapon and I’m able to proc both on melee attacks.
