Can't load my savegame (downgrade to previous beta doesn't work)

I've been playing Caves of Qud this morning with no problem. But now I get the message "That save file looks like it's from an older save format revision (2.0.201.49)". I've tried going back to the previous betas (I've tried all of them, one by one), and renaming primary.sav.bak, but with no luck. Any clues?
