Multi-turn inventory interactions should be interrupted by dangerous situations

If you screw up and 'Take all' on a pile of items with hostiles around you can just die before getting to take another turn (pic related.) At the very least multi-item pickup seems like it should interrupt itself when you take damage.

There's a similar issue when taking actions in the inventory and equipment menus. The menu takes up the whole screen so you can't tell if something really bad is happening- you can't see the game world or combat log. This isn't as bad as the multi-turn pickup process paralyzing you for a bunch of turns because you pressed Tab over a pile, but maybe being damaged should kick you out of the item menu and back to the main interface.

That spark tick hit me a bunch more times than the log is showing, btw. That tick was a real go-getter.
