Moldfella stuck and won't move or follow onto a new screen

I started a new game in Joppa with Moldfella as a pet and he seems to be inanimate now and won't move or follow when I move/quick travel onto a new screen.

I tried a few games with other pets and they were fine, but Moldfella was like this each time.
