Things I noticed with Blackout/Vantabloom Darkness effect
I’ve been messing around with the Vantabloom’s darkness effect/Blackout part and have noticed some odd inconsistencies with it, for one, it is possible for the player to lose sight of enemies while in the black-out zones, enemies however, never lose sight of the player, no matter the distance to them, or if they do/or don’t have some kind of mutation which aids in locating the player while they are in the zone (night-vision, enhanced smell, etc.) Even if the player enters an zone through a space that is currently blacked-out, unless the enemy spawns in the darkness effect, they will immediately target the player. Of course, when I was testing, I was sure to use creatures I know such as Salthoppers, Boars, whose night-vision should extend a couple squares away and yet they could see the player sometimes from across the screen. It may be more interesting to have the blackout effect work like Magical Darkness, in that not only does it obscure the things inside it, but block vision for both the player and the enemies who are viewing from spaces outside of it.
