Gases take WAY too long to disperse

I'm on the latest beta branch of the game, but this "bug" or issue has been in the game for a really, really long time. Gases simply take AGES to disperse.
I hate the honeyskunks because they always spray acid, and the acid stays in place for way too long and destroys everything.
I hate all the urchins because they not only breathe gases at you, they create even more gas when they die, and it can take DAYS, even WEEKS for the gas to finally go away.
I do not enjoy having to camp out for several days in a dungeon just to clear out some urchins.
I do not enjoy having to wait for like half a day before I can safely pass the position a honeyskunk decided to fart on.
Please, please do something about that, it's one of the most annoying things in this game.

In addition to this, acid gas is WAY too damaging against walls and structures. There are lots of items in the game which are meant to enable you to realistically dig through walls, but as long as the player has a way to generate some acid gas (and acid gas grenades are not super rare), walls are simply not an issue. Even stronger walls like foamcrete and fulcrete crumble within just a few turns when exposed to acid.
