They probably shouldn't spawn as random Mechanimist converts.
I just got a stilt map with one and blundered into its pull radius. It got half my inventory and I can't destroy the magnet without aggroing everyone.
I don't know if this is an intentional feature- setting up a giant magnet that pulls metal items to itself as 'offerings' while spouting Mechanimist scripture seems like something the faction would do- but the gameplay effects seem bad? It's not a hostile creature so the 'W'alk command isn't afraid of it and I assume autoexplore isn't either. Seems like a gotcha for players just trying to walk around town.

Extended ExcludeFromVillagePopulations to include the stilt.
