Two heads + serene/terrifying visage headgear

Issue #4484 new
Gabriel Bales created an issue

Hi friends! As you can see there are two ways serene/terrifying visage headgear can equip when you have two heads - the hat and the mask can be on the same head, or on separate heads. When they’re on separate heads, my AV seems to be one lower, presumably due to a quirk of the way AVs between multiple body parts are averaged. This seems counterintuitive if it’s intentional. Also having a hat make the face on your other head look calmer/scarier doesn’t make much sense anyway. Live and drink

Following further testing, the loss in AV happens specifically when the visage headgear equips on my right face and left head. If it’s on my right head and left face, it’s fine.

if they end up on different heads/faces that’s fine but the av/dv should be the same wherever its equipped

I think I see what’s happening here. It’s not an averaging problem, but a slot problem.

When the right head is occupied by an item, but the right face is free, and the helmet with visage is equipped on the left head, the item appears to be “primarily” equipped in the first slot listed in the equipment menu, which is the Right Face, with the “secondary” slot being set to Left Head. This behavior is visible in the second screenshot.

Because the helmet’s intended equip region is head and not face, it is not technically equipped in the correct region, and thus it does not grant its AV bonus.

It’s very likely that this bug affects other items which occupy multiple slots in cases where the character has multiple limbs and similar equipment setups.
