Village fetch quests are uncompletable if you start them then "complete" them already holding the quest item

I assume this happens with random starting village quests too; if you randomly find a quest item at a random settlement, for example, then happen upon the village that asks for that quest item, you can tell the villager you’ve found it and receive the xp, not the 3-choice reward. In the quest screen it shows you’ve completed the second step, not the first step of finding the item.
