I encountered what seems to be the same issue. While this is possibly related to it being an older version that I was finishing playing a character on (2.0.202.82) or already fixed since then, I ran into a build error with the following message while going down stairs (at strata level 527 down to 528) when attempting to hunt cryotube-clones of my character:

"This zone isn't building properly, do you want to force it to stop and build immediately?"

If I decline, I am plonked down in a blank map. If I say yes, all of the level spawns as normal except the cryotube placed midway through the map, which spawns with cryogenic gas only in the central tile, nothing else in that central tile, and no corners, unless one counts the set of up-stairs placed where the upper left corner block of the cryotube would normally be. This does not match any of the previous encounters of damaged cryotubes on this character.
