clones of warden Ulraig becoming neutral after being friendly

I cloned Warden Ulraig 3 times using cloning draught while having him water-bonded. I initially cloned him once at the stilt and then the other 2 later. later on I got lost in the flower fields and started moving between zones to try regain my bearings. when I did only 1 of the 3 clones was friendly to me, the other 2 remaining neutral in the flower fields. I ended up using wishes to beguile them back to my side, but I don't know what made them neutral. my guess is that they were lagging behind (for some reason friendly clones move a few tiles behind unlike water-bonded, beguiled or proselytized allies) and they were still in the previous zone when I regained my bearings
