If I may suggest a somewhat brute-force solution: have space inverters, if firing multiple shots, go on cooldown after firing for long enough for the clones to dissipate. It’s actually kind of a cool fun interaction, splitting the tunneled version of yourself through a beam, and the resulting split selves work alongside you for a few turns until they’re pulled back into your main self, and it’d be a shame to get rid of it entirely.
