Before I was done exploring the area, the kraken levelled half the surface of the freehold, leaving corpses everywhere and more freshwater (from broken pipes?) than I can carry just lying around. @rockygr pointed out that this is likely unintended behaviour, as regular villager salt krakens have this behaviour disabled.
