Both starting village quests involved finding a location that was next to the other's, but only one completed instantly

The legendary watervine farmer wanted me to find a snapjaw fort next to “the Furrow of the Glorious Salt”, and the mayor wanted me to find the Furrow of the Glorious Salt next to the same snapjaw fort. The mayor’s quest completed instantly, but I still had to go to the snapjaw fort to finish the first step of the legendary watervine farmer’s quest.

Also, the chronology entries state I located “the Furrow of the Glorious Salt, surface” and “desert canyon, surface” after going to the Furrow of the Glorious Salt and the snapjaw fort respectively.
