Unable to use the ability dig.

Hi, i get a jackhammer but when i want to use the dig ability he granted, nothing happen. I also try to "force attack" down but it was not working either. Is it a know bug ? Or was i use it wrongly ? I loaded it with a fresh chem cell. And i get absolutely no message in prompt, it's like the dig action never take place.
