Failure to launch

Downloaded an update this morning and the game hangs on launch. Worked fine yesterday, Jan 1. Running on Linux Mint 20.1. I have not selected any beta branches from Steam.

Attached is a screenshot of all that happens when CoQ is the topmost window. Note the glitched taskbar in the bottom, which goes away as soon as I tab-out to other windows but returns as soon as I tab back to CoQ. Eventually, the game terminates to desktop on its own.

The same happens when launched via console, with the following console output:
