i think the bug here is probably mostly just unintuitive ordering of messages. for instance, printing the zone name should probably happen before things that happen in that zone

Mirroring the above but noting that the weird thing is I was able to drop from strata 1 of the rust wells by moving diagonally down to strata 3 (being prompted that It looks like an awfully long fall and everything) and took no damage, but when teleporting, like what happened with the OP's blinking tic, I take the damage you'd expect from falling two strata. I think I just had godmode still enabled lol
