Trade inventory with Modern UI is extremely tedious (and not fully functional)

Issue #6391 resolved
Tom Myers created an issue

Three things-

  • Firstly, it takes VASTLY more inputs to select even a single item for trade with the Modern UI and Additional Overlays turned on.
  • Secondly, not all the options seem to be available in the Modern UI version. I can’t ‘look’ at an item while in this version of the trade inventory, selecting just takes me to an annoying overlay that takes 7 arrow key inputs to select my item. Also, because selecting it doesn’t bring up that little ‘look’ menu, I can’t ask tinkerers to recharge my energy cells or identify my artifacts. (which makes modern UI a dealbreaker for characters with low int)
  • Thirdly, the new UI looks great, but I can’t see as much of the text of the actual item name. Sometimes important information like the mark # of a grenade is cut off, and without the ability to ‘look’ there’s no way to access that information from inside the trade screen.

I generally prefer playing with Modern UI and overlays, but I hate having to switch back to the old UI just to ask someone to re-charge my chem cells…

The Modern UI trade system needs to be combined with the old trade system:

  1. Just bring back the ability to quickly select items using the + or [enter] button.
  2. Add an extra step in the already cumbersome Modern clicking/ selecting method- Upon selecting an item, bring up a menu of things you can do (look, recharge, etc…) but also add an option says “trade” which when selected opens the Modern trade overlay.
