Automation QOL: Ability to preserve items to be treated as scrap over save files

I find it would be some much needed QOL to be able to treat an item as scrap forever, preserving this status across save files until you choose to undo it again. Some items are always only valuable for their bits, regardless of what you’re playing at the time. The ability to not have to redo treating these sort of items as scrap on new saves would be very welcome.
