Autoexplore does not avoid fractuses (fracti?) all the time

I often find myself trying to auto-explore in salt dune villages (random start ones, generally) and having a mishap with a fractus that causes me to 1) lose blood, and 2) need to click the auto-explore key again. Sometimes this happens more than five times in the same village.
It may be a pathing issue...And I wouldn't mind so much if there were no path around, but there are very clearly paths nearby that could be taken instead. A lot of blood tends to collect. It's kind of annoying.
General repro steps:
- Generate a salt dune village at character start that has fracti.
- Auto-explore. It will get there eventually.
