The Nocturnal Apex's description could use a writing pass

The description of the Nocturnal Apex, as below, is pretty insensitive and very “mythologised aztec”. I feel it could use change to be brought in line with most of Qud’s writing in the current day and not making pretty blatant comparison to aztec (and other mesoamerican) cultures.
The metabolic rhythms of the Holy City's denizens are synchronized to their diurnal rituals: during the day, repose in prayer beneath the shade of a fluted ziggurat; during the night, prowl the toxic arboreta for sacrifices.

I get this reading but ziggurats are mesopotamian (rooted in Assyrian), and sacrifice is threaded through several religious lineages
