Quartziferous mirror created by sultan relic gets attacked by own mirror bugs?

If a sultan relic allows you to spawn a Quartiziferous Mirror, the resulting mirror bugs are not friendly, or at least, do not stay that way even if you don't attack them. They typically kill their source mirror almost immediately, and then came after me.

I used polygel to make several of the relic so I could experiment, and this was still the case once I was loved with insect using a bunch of Schroedinger pages.
