game freezes while alt tabbed

related to issues #7653, #7361, leaving the game alt tabbed for an extended period of time (appears to be at least over an hour) will result in a hard freeze, which the game will not recover from. my OS is windows 10, if there’s any other info that would be helpful for this one let me know. log from such a freeze attached.

I have also been experiencing these same hangs but it can happen after a minute, not an hour
