Game does not honour keys remapped at OS level.

I have swapped my Escape and Caps Lock keys in my OS (Debian 11 - Gnome). After a recent update (roughly a week ago) the game no longer recognizes that pressing the Caps Lock key should be an Escape. When I press the Escape key the game recognizes it as an Escape and the OS recognizes it as Caps Lock leading to closing the current dialogue box and activating Caps Lock.
