Summary

Steam cloud save does not work. Tested with steam deck and windows.

Detail

First time play on steam deck. No previous launches on other platforms.
Installed on SD card.
Started game, created character, and moved around the world for about an hour.
Exited game via "Save and Quit" option.
Deck reported "Steam Cloud - up to date" but no uploading indication.
Properties shows game using 0 bytes of out ~900MB of cloud save storage.

Steps taken

Tried multiple saves

Loaded, moved, and "Save and Quit" multiple times on deck.

Verified no save with windows

Launching game on Windows 10 briefly shows "Syncing cloud" but game does not allow for "Continue" on boot.

Confirmed saves and location

Switched over to desktop mode on the deck.
Confirmed, and backed up, saves found in ~/.config/unity3d/Freehold Games/CavesOfQud/Saves/ on deck

Created save on Windows

Installed game one windows 10 machine
Started game, created character, and moved around the world.
Exited game via "Save and Quit" option.
Steam reported "Synced with Cloud" but no upload indication.

Windows save does not show on deck.

Toggled cloud option

In properties, disable cloud saves.
Launch game, load save, move, and quit.
Re-enabled cloud saves.
Launch game, load save, move, and quit.

Verified internet and steam server connectivity

Ping of 8.8.8.8 does not drop packets.
Login of steam on windows and deck is successful.

Tried older game version

Changed game to 2.0.204.68 branch
Started game, created character, and moved around the world.
Exited game via "Save and Quit" option.
