I did some testing; this is reproducible (I wished in the ingredients, if that matters) with one of my starting builds, but today's Daily does allow for reading early history

Edit: You're unable to learn recipes as in, the option to read early history is not appearing at all in the Inventory menu

Alwinfy: Item in question in the attached save is the freeze grenade Mk I, which is I believe the lowest tinker level in game & one that Psychometry should theoretically allow you to read even at level 1 Edit: …I should probably also note that the option to read early history is not appearing at all, rather than displaying an error message

apparently it was an issue with the user's qud directory, reinstalling fixed the problem
