Reduce Twitter to 3 messages

Is there a way to not show @ replys?

    Re replies.

    Yes, but it will have to be home built using regexs. Therefore I need to know exactly what you want filtering.

    Do you just want to remove tweets that begin with @... or does any tweet that contains @... need to be excluded?

    We could also check the tweets in_reply_to_screen_name or in_reply_to_status_id properties. But, consider the following:

    {
      ...
      "in_reply_to_status_id": 286282094819303420,
      "in_reply_to_status_id_str": "286282094819303424",
      "in_reply_to_user_id": 15190711,
      "in_reply_to_user_id_str": "15190711",
      "in_reply_to_screen_name": "rcurtis0914",
      "user":  {
        ...
        "description": "Off the Royal Mile, renovated Gothic Church and home to the EUTC. Vampire Hospital Waiting Room and The Improverts @TheHenChickens, London January 6th-7th 2013!",
        ...
      },
      ...
    },

    This is a tweet that I'm sure we would like to display, but was considered to be in response to since it contained, @TheHenChickens

    I want to remove tweets that specifically begin with @...

    I believe that is how twitter classifies an '@ reply'. It can be circumvented using '.@user'

    For the record, @Tom Turner correctly spotted that the above section is of course the user description (duh).

    Using any of the in_reply_to ... sections would work, however the twitter api also provides an exclude_replies parameter.
