Compiled binaries

Issue #160 wontfix
Former user created an issue

Hi,

This Bitbucket provided compiled binaries until recently at: https://bitbucket.org/berkeleylab/metabat/downloads/metabat-static-binary-linux-x64_v2.12.1.tar.gz

This was convenient for installing MetaBAT via Dockerfiles. Is it possible to provide compiled binaries again? It would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Donovan

I found too many issue with maintaining the static binaries -- new chips (apple/intel/amd) and new os versions confound it from working... That is the major reason why docker was created. If you can use the docker file or better yet build metabat using its Dockerfile script, it will work and be potentially far better optimized for your actual machine. The biggest prerequisite pain is boost but almost all package managers have that available to install.
