Number of columns in depth file is not even

Issue #96 resolved
Former user created an issue

Hello,

I am trying to bin a metagenome retrieved by IMG. Unfortunately, IMG does not provide the bam files but rather a depth.txt file. This includes 2 columns, one with the contig name and another one with the average read depth. However, when I am trying to run metabat2 by using this depth file I get this error: [Error!] Number of columns (excluding the first column) in abundance data file is not even. Is there any way I can bin this metagenome with only this depth file or metabat2 needs a completely different depth file?

Thank you!

You can use the undocumented and untested option --cvExt

Please note we expect sub-optimal binning when using this option without processing the bam files directly.
